Advanced Preschool (Ages 3-4)
This is a 30 minute advanced class designed for children ages 3-4 to start exploring independence in the water. Skills to be learned in this level include making forward progress on front and back with various arm and leg techniques, rolling over independently, and learning how to control breathing while swimming. Once these skills are mastered, students will progress to the Level 2 class.
Purpose: Build the skills needed to swim and float safely and independently.
Prerequisites: Submerging for 1-3 seconds, float on back for 5-10 seconds without assistance, and must be 3 - 4 years old.
Goals:
- Enter & exit water safely independently
- Glide and swim on front with arm and leg action to instructor (5 yds)
- Roll over and swim on back with arm and leg action to instructor (5 yds)
- Demonstrate taking a breath independently
